Study Permits
Foreign nationals wanting to pursue studies at Adler University’s Vancouver campus must apply for and be approved by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) for a study permit. The study permit is an official document issued to someone who is not a Canadian citizen or permanent resident of Canada to study at a Designated Learning Institution (DLI) in Canada. Adler University is a DLI (# O19394452198). Study permits are not travel documents and study permit holders are considered temporary residents of Canada. Students are responsible for keeping their study permits active.
Study Permit & TRV
Study permits are not travel documents. Depending on your country of citizenship, study permit holders will be issued either a TRV (Temporary Resident Visa) or an eTA (Electronic Travel Authorization), which are the documents that allow you to travel to Canada. Coop Work Permit
All international students at the Vancouver campus are required to obtain a coop work permit to complete the practica and internships required for their respective programs. The coop work permit covers the hours required for these academic program requirements. The coop work permit cannot be used for work outside of the practica and internships required as part of your course of study and the hours required must total 50% or less of your program of study per IRCC guidelines. Working During Your Studies
To be eligible to complete studies at the Vancouver Campus, all foreign nationals require a valid study and coop work permit by the program start date.
International students who meet the IRCC eligibility requirements and hold a valid study permit are eligible to work on- and/or off campus during their studies. . For more information about these regulations, Working in Canada as an international student - Canada.ca.
