COUN 518 - Adlerian Theory and Counseling 3 This course introduces the principles of Alfred Adler’s theory as a basis for understanding the development of an individual’s unique style of living or personality. These principles include the purposiveness of behavior, the indivisible self, goal-directed behavior, and the role of social interest in mental health and social progress. Students will learn how to apply these principles in counseling and treatment planning, with the goals to improve well-being of individuals, couples, groups, families, and society.
