CFTD 681.9 - Working in a Social Justice Focused Private Practice

This course will teach students about private practice work and give them a leg up on applying to private practice jobs. Course materials, activities and assignments will help them identify the practices that would be the best fit for their individual sets of skills and values. The class will teach students basic skills of becoming a successful therapist in private practice after graduation. Students will even be paired with peer mentors in the field and given an opportunity to form and participate in a therapist support group after the course is over with the goal of reducing burnout as an early career therapist. Students will learn via readings, assignments, in-class discussions and activities, and breakout small groups.
