The purpose of the course is to expose students to a variety of quantitative and selected qualitative research designs most frequently used in clinical psychology. A critical assessment is provided of the strengths and limitations of these designs. Attention will also be given to issues of cultural diversity in research, research validity and bias, the connection between research questions and appropriate methodologies, and the link between science and practice. Coursework is intended to assist students on their dissertation work.
