MAIOP 523 - Psychometrics Lab 1 With the increasing demand in evaluating the outcomes of organizational development initiatives, practitioners need to focus on the collection of valid and reliable data to inform policy decisions and to demonstrate to the funding authorities the effectiveness of their interventions. Additionally, organizations are expanding their definition of performance and are seeking customized and sophisticated instruments to measure the performance these outcomes with integrity. In this course you will learn applied psychometric theory and techniques required to develop and validate measures of psychological constructs that are suitable for decision making in organizations. Particular emphasis will be placed on generating measurement items and rating scales and investigating the reliability and validity of psychological data using factor analytic procedures. The psychometric issues covered will be pertinent to the present day organizational psychologist as both informed consultant and active researcher.
