DCES 884 - Advanced Couples Counseling

This course will provide students with advanced information regarding contemporary issues in couples and marriage counseling. This will include specific topics in couples counseling such as grief and loss, domestic violence, substance abuse impacting the relationship, LGBTQ issues, divorce, and re-parenting. This course will also address concepts and theory in couples counseling along with standard and advanced couples counseling practice and techniques. Students will get the opportunity to develop in-depth skills and knowledge in couples counseling through lectures, demonstrations, and role-play.
