DCES 888 - Advocacy and Leadership in Higher Education

This course is to provide doctoral students a forum to explore advocacy and leadership opportunities in higher education settings. Students will have an increase of understanding of university operations and structures, student learning assessment, program development and evaluations, accreditation, and other administrative duties beyond teaching and advising. There will also be in-depth discussion on contemporary jargon in higher education, including but not limited to, diversity issues from both students and faculty bodies, academic freedom and accountabilities, promotional structures, and others.
