It becomes occasionally appropriate that a student do an independent study with a faculty member on a special topic relevant to the field of Counselor Education and Supervision. This Special Topics course fills that need. This independent study could be any topic in the field, including but not limited to, the practice of counseling and psychotherapy, counselor training, trauma, leadership, advocacy, diversity, multiculturalism, research, or other related area of study. The number of credits for this course can vary from 1 to 3.
