This course exposes students to the wide gamut of approaches utilized in the treatment and rehabilitation of offenders, with attention given to the evaluation of their effectiveness. The course also explores the complexities of assessing and treating various mental health diagnoses and conditions within forensic settings. Further, this course examines the counseling theories related to the etiology, development, treatment, and prediction of violent crimes, as well the evidence based interventions within the criminal justice system and other forensic mental health contexts.
