GPP 510 - Fundamental Research Skills 0 Graduate Preparatory Program The Graduate Preparatory Program, comprised of 3 courses, focuses on a unique blend of academic and business English, ensuring students are able to study, and complete assignments and examinations with confidence in the fields of public policy/administration and industrial organizational psychology. Specific academic skills, such as essay writing, research methods, note taking, critical thinking and seminar or tutorial discussion, will provide a strong foundation for our students. Material in the course will cover current affairs and/or incorporate relevant public policy issues as well as key topics in industrial organizational psychology to bridge academic training with practical knowledge. GPP-510 - Fundamental Research Skills (0 credit) This seminar focuses on developing students’ practical research skills and critical thinking, with special attention to public policy materials. Class work emphasizes active learning, featuring collaborative classroom exercises. Coursework will cover research methods, an introduction to Canadian public policy sources, and critical assessment of research material. Special note: students should expect to spend considerable time outside of class in written assignment preparation. Students require a laptop in class.
