MAOP 535 - Ethics and Socially Responsible Practice 1 This course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation for the ethical practice of psychology, counseling and coaching in organizations. Students will learn codes of ethics of the Canadian Psychological Association, as well as studying the codes of ethics of related professions. A review of ethics and ethical decision making in the roles of consulting and leadership will be provided. Students will learn to apply ethical and professional decision-making skills to current issues facing the fields of management consulting, leadership coaching and counseling for mental health in the workplace. Drawing from Adlerian psychology, the course will also explore the systemic nature of social injustice as a foundation for their development as ethical and socially responsible practitioners. Seminars consist primarily of group discussions, case studies/vignettes, role-playing and experiential exercises, interactive feedback, and student presentations.
