MPPA 520 - Applied Research Method II: Application

This course offers an advanced investigation and hands-on application of, qualitative and quantitative, and mixed methods research approaches within a policy context. Simulating an exploratory sequential mixed methods design, students will extend their research proposal from Applied Research Methods I by: developing a research consent form according to Adler University’s Research Ethics Board guidelines; learning qualitative and some quantitative data collection methods, completing weekly assignments, using the analysis in the development of a scaffolding style policy paper; options for communicating policy research outcomes (i.e. posters/presentation deck, etc.) and exploring the use of NVIVO software in qualitative and mixed methods analyses.
