This course is focused on the basic economic tools and models relevant to current policy and public sector choices. It explores contemporary debates about the roles of the state within market economy, as well as the impacts of global neoliberalism and other global economic forces. The course provides an overview of economic policy frameworks and contemporary economic policy issues. Case studies will be used, as well as policy alternatives and recommendations to broaden students’ policy analysis skills.
