This course provides an overview of developmentally appropriate knowledge and approaches to counselling children (approximately 4-11 years of age). Theories, techniques, and strategies for working with children are presented. Counselling issues are explored, as well as strengths and challenges commonly experienced by this population. Students are provided with experience in skill development using individual counselling and play therapy.
