PSY 645 - Ethics and Professional Development in Clinical Psychology 3 This course is designed to provide students with a solid foundation for the ethical practice of professional psychology. Students will learn the American Psychological Association Ethical Principles of Psychologists and Code of Conduct as well as the history of professional psychology and psychotherapy. A review of theories of social justice and their relationship to ethical decision-making will be provided. This course will also introduce ethical guidelines for researchers and acquaint students with the Institutional Review Board (IRB) and its functions and requirements. The course will reinforce the basics of professional writing and provide an introduction to supervision, consulting, and leadership. Students will learn to apply ethical and professional decision-making skills to current issues facing the field of psychology.
