PSY 735 - Assessment & Intervention in Behavioral Medicine I 3 The focus of the course is management of mild to moderate disease, disease prevention, and positive health behaviors (e.g., smoking cessation, dietary change, exercise, insomnia, health-compromising behaviors, and wellness). Illustrative interventions that integrate wellness will involve disorders such as hypertension, diabetes, and somatoform disorders. Assessment using common behavioral medicine instrumentation will be covered. Experiential learning will be incorporated in this course in order to deepen the student’s understanding of the perspective of the patient. Note: Required course for the Primary Care emphasis. Satisfies program requirement as a General Elective.
Prerequisites: PSY 720 , PSY 737 .
