PSY 757 - Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy 3 The purpose of this course is to provide a conceptual framework for interventions with children and adolescents. The course will focus on specific interventions and research on the major psychotherapeutic approaches for children and adolescents, including cognitive-behavioral, psychodynamic, family systems, Adlerian, person-centered,and parent-infant psychotherapy. The importance of addressing ethical and legal issues unique to the treatment of this population will be emphasized. Differences and diversity in treatment, and adapting treatment for clients with disabilities, will also be covered. Note: This course is only offered in the fall term. Required course for the Child and Adolescent emphasis. Note: Satisfies program requirement as a General Elective.
Prerequisites: PSY-753.
