PSY 968 - Advanced Practicum and Seminar II 1 This advanced seminar is taken concurrently with an advanced practicum experience. The seminar provides students with an opportunity to review clinical cases integrating theory, practice, and research, and discuss professional development and the supervision experience. This seminar also provides students with opportunities to prepare for future professional development through discussion of internship and postdoctoral preparation, professional licensure, and job seeking. Specific cases students are working on in their practicum placement are discussed to illustrate general principles of therapy, assessment, intervention, and relevant and appropriate recommendations for the client. The focus is on the continued development of knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values needed to provide competent and ethical clinical services. A variety of topics and clinical experiences are offered through class discussion, case presentation, role-playing, and structured exercises. Students are required to complete a minimum of 600 practicum hours in order to receive credit for this training experience. Advanced Practicum may not be transferred or waived. (Students entering 2019-2020 AY or later)
