COUN 621 - Psychedelic-Assisted Counseling 3 This course aims to provide an overview of the research on psychedelic substances and how counselors can utilize them in practice. Theoretical models for practice and basic counseling skills will be covered to prepare students for introductory supervised practice and further training. Students will gain knowledge of how set, setting, and substance impact client experiences with psychedelics in counseling settings, and approaches to preparation and integration to maximize their therapeutic effects. This course will also address historical, legal, ethical, harm reduction, and social justice/equity issues related to practice.
