COUN 626 - Appraisal and Assessment 3 This course will provide foundational knowledge of individual and group approaches to assessment and evaluation commonly used in counseling practice. Students will be introduced to a variety of formal and informal assessment tools and instruments. Psychometric statistics, such as measures of central tendency and standard errors, as well as psychometric properties of instruments, such as validity and reliability, will be discussed. Strategies for ethical selection, administration, and interpretation of assessment and evaluation instruments and techniques with multicultural considerations will be addressed.
