CRIM 518 - Criminal Justice Administration 3 This course examines current policies, practices, and organizational principles of the administrative structures, functions, and processes of the criminal justice system (e.g., law enforcement, courts and corrections, health). Topics include the use of systems theory to understand the complexity of the multilayered inter- and intrarelationship between agencies within and outside of government (including Medicaid/Medicare); public health and the community organizations; trends such as police training and police discretion; and social injustices within society that influence outcomes (e.g., racial and economic disparities, lack of community services, or lack of funding for defense attorneys).
