DCES 701 - Professional Orientation and Scholarly Endeavors II

In this second course of the three-course sequence (DCES 700 , DCES-701, and DCES 702 ), this course aims at strengthening the development of the counselor educator scholarly identity as an active contributing member dedicated to the profession. It will emphasize students’ actual involvement in counseling organizations. Ethics regarding writing, publishing, and conducting scholarly activities will be discussed. With the assistance and guidance from the course instructor and/or faculty mentor, students will start implementing their plan of research specialty area by conducting a more in-depth literature review regarding the area and refine their interests and explore possible research and dissertation avenues regarding the topic. Students will explore scholarly presentation and publication opportunities. During the course, they will also start the search for practicum opportunities for second fall semester.

Prerequisites: DCES 700 .
